Eamonn and Ian llc was founded upon my 20 years developing financial software for some of the Wall Street’s most demanding users. The explosion of mobile computing as a way of life created an opportunity and need for building business and consumer applications that meet the same high standards.
We believe the most successful applications are those that are easy to learn, easy to use, and easy to integrate into our day to day lives. Our development focuses first on a positive user experience. We then add solid software development skills and extensive user feedback to build robust, effective applications.
Eamonn and Ian llc began developing applications in the fall of 2009, and we currently have over 20 applications available on the Apple iTunes App Store, with over 150,000 downloads so far.
In addition to building applications, we have developed successful methods for teaching individuals how to build their own iPhone applications. We create hands-on training programs that allow developers to learn the important concepts and immediately try them out. Through repitition and feedback, developers are able to learn the skills quickly that are necessary to build effective applications.
Our teaching experience includes:
After receiving an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of North Carolina, and an MBA from Duke University, Giles moved to New York City, beginning a 20 year career in Fixed Income trading on Wall Street. During this period he worked at Salomon Brothers, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America. At Bank of America Giles managed a technology team of over 250 people in New York, Charlotte, Chicago and Hyderabad, India, supporting the entire Structured Products trading business. While there he led the technology mergers for the Mortgage Trading businesses for the Bank of America / Countrywide merger, and the Bank of America / Merrill Lynch merger. Giles has also lectured at various major universities about the Mortgage Trading business, risk management, and the functioning of the financial markets.
The growth of mobile computing technology presented an opportunity to apply Wall Street quality software development practices to a much broader user base. The emergence of platforms like the iPhone and iPad allows small and medium sized businesses access to technology tools previously impractical and cost-prohibitive. Giles started Eamonn and Ian llc with the focus of creating mobile applications developed to the same demanding specifications as applications developed for Wall Street.
While building this company, the SAE Institute presented an opportunity to teach their inaugural iPhone 360° development course. This allows Giles to pursue his enjoyment of teaching while also fine tuning his knowledge of the iPhone and iPad software development environment. Giles helped structure the course curriculum, and just finished teaching the second offering of the 6 week development course for learning the fundamentals of iPhone programming.
